nHouse is a new and innovative pre-fabricated housing company. Created by award-winning architect Richard Hywel Evans, it is a spacious, affordable and contemporary two-storey, three-bedroom modular home. The house is made using off-site construction techniques and it can be delivered and set up anywhere. The nHouse has more windows, higher ceilings and space than any other newly built home in its price range. And it’s eco-friendly with low running costs.
nHouse approached us with the foundations of a great product but they needed help communicating it visually as a brand. One feature that makes the nHouse so unique is its ‘quad-click’ technology that allows for quicker on-site assembly. It was important to highlight this in the branding.
The challenge for us was to create a distinctive, forward thinking brand to lay firm foundations for the pioneering nHouse. We incorporated the sharp lines, meticulous precision and minimalistic style of the nHouse into our design to build a brand that would be a credit to Richard Hywel Evans and this groundbreaking project. With guidelines in place, we designed an icon set using the formula we created for the nHouse logomark. The icon set informs customers about the innovative technological features of the nHouse.
Always at the front of our mind, we created a typeface inspired by the construction of each nHouse, with the ‘Quad Click’ idea being implemented through brochures and print. Our brand icon embodies the nHouse, its revolutionary ‘Quad Click’ technology making up the structure for our house, which doubles up as an ‘n’ for nHouse. Our monotone colour palette reflects the no-frills, minimalistic design of the nHouse. This also emulates the language of modern tech products like Apple, selling the nHouse as a product and as an object of desire rather than a traditional home build.
